How old do I have to be to hire a vehicle?+

The minimum age is normally 25 and the maximum age is 69, due to insurance restrictions. You must have held a full UK Driving licence for a minimum of 2 Years and have no more than 6 penalty points (these are subject to checks based on convictions codes).

What is included in the price?+

All our prices are inclusive of VAT, insurance and mileage are capped at 2000 miles per 28 days.

What is the deposit?+

Deposit amounts differ on vehicles hired and age of the driver.  We can confirm the amount at the time of quoting. Deposits will be required when the vehicle is collected, this is refunded in full upon termination of hire, providing the vehicle is returned full of fuel and free from damage.

How can I pay for the rental?+

Credit/Debit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, Switch and Electron. All Payments must be made in the driver’s name, we will be unable to accept any third party card details. The card used for the payment of the rental must be available when the vehicle is collected for verification purposes. We do not accept American Express and no cash payments.

When I place the reservation, what is taken from my credit/debit card?+

Just the cost of the rental for the period requested.

What do I need to bring with me?+

You will need your UK Driving Licence Photo card and Share Driving Licence Code which can be obtained by visiting www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence and inputting the Driving Licence Number and National Insurance Number. The code is case sensitive and is valid for 21 days.

Alternatively, you can bring with you to branch your NI number and Driving Licence and we can help you create the Check Code.

Two forms of ID, (one being the driving licence) and second either a Utility bill or Bank Statement dated no more than 3 months ago. You can also show these to us via your phone if you don’t have paper copies available.

If you are unable to produce your Valid Photo Card Driving Licence, we will be unable to complete your Booking, which can incur extra charges.

Holders of the old-style UK paper licence must also provide a Share Driving Licence check code together with an additional form of photographic ID i.e. Full Valid Passport. No other form of identification will be accepted.

Can I add an additional driver?+

Additional drivers can be added at a daily additional charge. They need to be qualified in exactly the same way as the main driver. They will also need to be present when the vehicle is collected.

Can I take my hire vehicle overseas?+

Paull’s Vehicle Rental unfortunately do not permit our vehicles to be taken outside of the UK Mainland.

Is there a fuel policy?+

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel, should vehicles be returned after the rental not full, then a refuel charge will be applied. Price per litre is available when the vehicle is collected.

How long can I hire a vehicle for?+

Our vehicles are available up to hire up to a maximum of 90 days.

Availability? +

In the event of a vehicle not being available a full refund will be issued.

Is there a cancellation policy?+

A refund will be made providing at least seven days’ notice is given. If less than seven days is given, no refund will be made. Refunds will not be made for specialist vehicles, this includes, MPV’s, 4×4’s and Luton Vans after the booking is placed.

Am I responsible for any additional charges?+

Can I drop vehicles off out of hours?+

We do not permit the dropping off of vehicles out of hours to protect the interests of our customers. Latest collection and returns are Monday to Friday 16.30 hrs and Saturdays 15.30 hrs.

Will there be an additional charge if I am late returning the vehicle? +

There is a 30 minute grace period for rentals. However, if the car is returned outside of this period, we will automatically charge for another day’s hire.

What are your opening hours?+

Monday to Friday 9.00am until 17.00pm, Saturdays 8.30am until 16.00pm. We are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

How long can I hire a vehicle for?+

We offer flexible contract lengths suited to your business’ needs, from daily to yearly rentals.

Do you offer collection and delivery?+

Yes, we can collect and deliver your vehicle to you. Please refer to your tariff for a full breakdown of costs.

Can I use my fleet insurance? +

Yes, to use your fleet insurance you will need a business account with us and need to complete a COI indemnity form. We also offer insurance to our business clients, at an additional cost (This is not available on some specialist vehicles). Please enquire at the time of booking.

Is there a cancellation policy?+

Vehicles cancelled more than two hours before hire start time can be done without penalty. For cancellations within two hours of the start time, there will be an abortive fee. Please see your tariff for details of costs.

Do you have credit facilities?+

Yes, an account form will need to be completed with credit checks.
